Tiny babies at Sansway
On the first floor at nursery we have our little ducklings room a playroom with
low level mirrors, toy boxes the babies can reach to make their own choices, a messy art & crafts corner, kitchen area for bottles & food preparation and adjoining sleep room (little ones can sleep undisturbed whilst in full view of carers).

The same familiar carers provide a secure and loving environment with simple routines.

Included in babies daily planning at Sansway are activities such a jelly play, gloop (corn flour & water, pasta, shredded paper to name a few – babies are invited to produce their own little pieces of art work (get those fridge magnets ready!).

The babies have the freedom to explore this room as they wish – we have cosy corners with pretty lighting, teddies, books & soft blankets for those who wish to chill for a while J

Parent/carers receive a daily diary noting meal times, milk feeds, nappy changes, sleep & special activities. Parents often send messages to carers in these little diaries.
We have ‘all about me’ forms detailing each child’s home routines and we work together to create these at nursery.

Sleeping babies are monitored on a chart and checked every 15minutes by senior staff.
Nappies are changed on a regular basis and checked throughout the day.

Staff/Child Ratio

3mths-2yrs  - 1 adult to 3 babies
2yrs-3yrs     - 1 adult to 4 toddlers
3yrs-5yrs     - 1 adult to 8 children

The ratios at Sansway are never compromised we have our own fantastic reserve of cover staff to ensure our high standards are always met.
