Nursery Education

All our children at Sansway have Learning Journey books – A profile of their achievements & progress at nursery.
The Learning Journey contains observations made by your child’s carer during play – from these observations our nursery nurses can plan activities around each individual child’s personal interests and needs – creating a positive relationship with your child.
The profiles are a wonderful keepsake documenting your child’s journey through pre- school with photographs and special pieces of work.  Children take their learning journey with them to reception class a great way for teacher to update herself on progress to date!
Many parents have commented on the benefits of children staying at Sansway in our small pre school groups (4-8 per group) and joining reception class together.
Parent/carers are invited to a review meeting with their child’s key carer at the end of every term – a valuable time to update on progress at nursery and home.

Outside Nursery Education
We give the children opportunities to experience the local community, knowledge & understanding of the environment around us by visiting the local Farm, Park, Blaise Castle & museum.
The nursery is situated next to our local community farm – this enables us to take walks safely across the field to see the farm life. We take advantage of the Farm’s newly created nature trail collecting cones, twigs, leaves & even bugs in our collecting jars.
